About Us
Spotsylvania County Little League (SCLL) is a volunteer-run organization committed to offering a league that welcomes players of all skill levels and walks of life. Our dedicated board and volunteers work to ensure each season is well-organized, fun, and focused on sportsmanship and player development.
SCLL was incorporated in 2014 in the state of Virginia. It serves the County of Spotsylvania and, since 2023, the City of Fredericksburg. SCLL is chartered under Little League International with the League ID 002-08-167.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide a safe, supportive, and fun environment where young athletes can learn the fundamentals of baseball and softball while developing essential life skills such as teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship. We strive to foster a positive experience for players, coaches, volunteers, and families through fair competition, learning opportunities, and community engagement.
Our Constitution states the organization's objective as follows:
The objective of the local league shall be to implant firmly in the children of the community the ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage and respect for authority so that they may be well adjusted, stronger and happier children and will grow to be good, decent, healthy and trustworthy citizens.
What We Offer
We offer a wide range of programs for children ages 4 to 16 that include:
- Tee-Ball, Coach-Pitch, and Kid-Pitch divisions
- Softball and Baseball leagues
- Challenger Division - an adaptive baseball program for individuals with physical and intellectual challenges
- Opportunities to participate in Little League All-Stars and district tournaments
- Coaching and umpiring opportunities for community members
Our Volunteers
SCLL is run entirely by volunteers – from board members to coaches, umpires, and team parents. We are always looking for dedicated community members to help us make each season a success. Volunteers are the lifeblood of our league, and we couldn’t do it without them.
