Spring 2025 Baseball

The Spotsylvania County Little League (SCLL) Little League Baseball program provides structured and age-appropriate opportunities for players ages 9-16 to develop their skills, enjoy the game, and compete in a supportive environment. The program is divided into the following divisions: AA, AAA, Majors, Intermediate Baseball, and Senior Baseball, each designed to match players' age and skill level while fostering a love for the game.

9-12 Baseball

AA Division (Ages 9-10)

This division introduces players to competitive kid-pitch baseball, focusing on fundamental skills and learning the game.

  • Balanced teams to ensure fair competition.
  • Focus on skill-building, teamwork, and good sportsmanship.

AAA Division (Ages 9-11)

AAA builds on the foundation of AA with more competitive play and a deeper understanding of game strategy.

Majors Division (Ages 9-12)

Majors is the pinnacle of the 9-12 Baseball program, offering highly competitive play and preparation for Intermediate or Senior divisions.

  • Full kid-pitch gameplay with advanced fielding and hitting techniques.
  • Competitive games with a focus on teamwork and leadership.

Intermediate Baseball Division (Ages 13)

The Intermediate division is designed for players transitioning from Majors to play on a larger field (50/70). Players must be 13 to participate.

  • Competitive and developmental opportunities on a transitional field.

Senior Baseball Division (Ages 14-16)

Senior Baseball is for experienced players seeking to compete on a full-size (60/90) field. Players must be 14-16 to participate.

Spring 2025 Teeball Baseball

The Spotsylvania County Little League (SCLL) Tee-Ball program introduces young athletes, ages 4-6, to the fundamentals of baseball and softball in a fun and supportive environment. This program is designed to teach the basic skills of throwing, catching, hitting, and running bases, while also fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and a love for the game.
Key Features:
  • Emphasis on Fundamentals: Players learn the basics of the game through engaging, age-appropriate drills and activities.
  • Non-Competitive Environment: Games focus on development and fun rather than competition, with no official scores kept.
  • Equal Playing Opportunities: All players are given equal opportunities to participate, ensuring every child feels included and valued.
  • Parent Involvement: Parents are encouraged to volunteer as coaches, team parents, or assistants to help create a positive and encouraging atmosphere for the players.
Season Overview:
  • Practices and games are scheduled 2 times per week, typically lasting about an hour.

Who Can Play? The Tee-Ball program is open to boys and girls who will turn 4 and will not turn 7 before August 31 of the current year.

Divided into three divisions—Minors, Majors, and Seniors—this program emphasizes skill development, sportsmanship, and competition suited to the players’ abilities and experience.

9-12 Softball

Minors Division (Ages 9-11)

The Minors division focuses on fundamental skill-building and an introduction to competitive play in a developmentally appropriate environment.

Spring 2025 Challenger

The Little League Challenger Division® was founded in 1989, and is Little League’s adaptive baseball program for individuals with physical and intellectual challenges.

Any individual with a physical or intellectual challenge may participate. If an individual can participate in the traditional Little League Baseball or Softball program with reasonable accommodations, they should do so. The Little League Challenger Division accommodates players ages 4 to 18; or up to age 22 if still enrolled in school. The Senior League Challenger Division accommodates players ages 15 and above (no maximum age).
